On 18 September 2025, during the General Chapter in Rome, Our Lady Porta Caeli was officially erected and recognized by the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance.
Then, on Sunday 7 December 2025, the Abbot General and his secretary visited the monastery and celebrated the inauguration Mass of the Foundation. In the same visit, the Novitiate was opened for the formation of new candidates — a new chapter in the life of the community founded in 1999 by the initiative of Late Mrs. Ezinne Comfort Ezenna, Chief Sir Anthony Ifeanyichukwu Ezenna (KSG) and their family.
